This interactive energy requirements tool allows you to calculate the annual heat loss for domestic dwellings situated anywhere in Europe. It provides the area of masonry, windows and roofing of a given property as well as its enclosed volume.

The annual heat loss is calculated, as is a heat loss index, which can be used to identify the efficiency of the property.

The programme utilises graphics to illustrate the various parts involved in arriving at a value for building energy losses based on appropriately supplied information.

On arriving at an estimated heat loss value for the selected property, the programme allows you to modify certain options (such as insulation and inside air temperature) to determine the effects of changes to the property on the heat loss.
